This is way too unrealistic. Charlotte can't be without any problems. I think that this will never happen. I agree with the fact that you can have changes and changes start with individuals but changes can't be made so that Charlotte is like a Utopian city.

It's crazy how much the crime rate could go up in just 10 years! At the beginning of this film security guards had to check elementary school kids for weapons with metal detectors. I hope that our soldiers that fight in Iraq today will not be mistreated in the future but instead honored and if things actually do get really bad in the future just like in this film, I hope that soldiers are... read more

In this particular film, I think it's very easy to villainize the single white mother. Even the actress who portrayed her said in a recent interview "I don't think she's aware. A lot of people are prejudiced in that way." When I watch it, however, I see a woman who is under a lot of stress. She is trying to hold on to her job in the face of company cut-backs, as... read more

Without a change within each person, real change cannot be initiated with genuineness. Though the quote used in the film was attributed to Ghandi, there is nothing we can truly do to change ourselves without the power of God in our lives. Anything else is temporary human behavior which is subject to falter and fail in the midst of life's inevitable struggles. Looking to God. however,... read more

why are all the violent people white?

These films can all be summarized the way: Imaginary stories and sympathetic characters provide the illusion that all apsects of contemporary life are bad and getting worse. However, the problems are not bad enough for the films to provide any statistical evidence about the extent or cause of any individual conflict. These films promote a liberal world view where there is no sense of... read more

What a hoot! You missed the boat when you could have really gotten the audience. The part where the Vet was attacked by the skinheads is where you should have had metals for valor etc falling out with the Bible of the meager possessions from the torn and tattered bag. The music was great! Really made me feel bad. Keep up the propaganda! It is a lot of fun to watch. PS: The casting... read more

I really identified with the character Sam. In the last vignette, Sam's story is fully told: "My mom doesn't know I'm gay." The new friend I met, Glenda, urged me to speak about our conversation after the film. I sometimes feel as though Charlotte's civic/government, social and religious leaders and institutions are kind of like Sam's mom; they don't know... read more
