Diversity in Scientific Communities: Can more diverse scientific communities "do better science" than more homogeneous ones? Come join us as Carla Fehr, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Iowa State University, leads a discussion on this issue. Public Lecture, as part of the UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Women's Speakers Series. RSVP to ethicscenter@uncc.edu. Dr. Fehr works in the philosophy of biology and science, feminist philosophy and feminist science studies. Her remarks will address the point that for diversity to have a positive impact on scientific practice, scientific communities must develop cultures that include and also are supportive of women and minority scientists. She draws on literature from the humanities and social sciences and quantitative and qualitative research.
